244. Octagon redux

In the diagram, the largest square has sides 15 cm.  Each side is divided into three equal segments by points and those points are connected with lines to form two more squares.  Determine the area of the octagon formed at the centre.


Note: The above might be characterised as a “sequel” to this problem, although we have yet to hear of the latter being posed to actual students, rather than remaining a rhetorical teaching discussion.
