261. Quarter circles


In the diagram, ABCD is a rectangle with perimeter 28 cm.  Quarter circles are drawn between points A and P₁, P₁ and P₂, P₂ and P₃, P₃ and P₄, P₄ and P₅, P₅ and B(P₆), with centres D, C, B, A, D, C, respectively.

* Given AB = x and BC = y, write a system of equations that express the relationship between x and y.
  Solve the system of equations to determine the length and width (breadth) of the rectangle.
